Every day, from June 21 until Sept. 21, 2007Mario Penalver, a graduate student at the University of Chicago, is walking seven hundred miles, beginning at Chicago’s Millennium Park (the Cloud Gate on the AT&T Plaza) on June 21 and arriving at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. on Sept. 21. He is demanding an immediate end to the Iraq War and the impeachment of the president.

Every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.Weekly peace vigil on Thurdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at intersection of Yankee Doodle Road and Pilot Knob in Eagan. We have a variety of signs, "Peace," "Vote for Change," and others. We have four very popular ones that read "Honk for Peace." These last signs invite the drivers of passing cars to express their support and give drivers a way to participate and a way for us to gauge their support. During the first half of 2006 we have averaged about ten vigilers and have been witnessing an increase in horn honks.

4:30 to 5:30 pm every ThursdayWeekly vigil at intersection of Yankee Doodle and Pilot Knob Road in Eagan, Minnesota. Spring 2007 usually about 10-12 participants holding various Peace signs. Our "HONK FOR PEACE" signs invite drivers to participate by honking and as the months go on the honks have been increasing. After the vigil we go to a nearby Mexican restuarant, "EL Loro", to eat and chat.

Every SundayThis vigil is an ongoing place for opponents of the war on Iraq to make their opposition visible. There is a time of silence, an open mike for sharing perspectives and readings, music, and announcements of upcoming events. Some vigilers hold large colorful banners, others hold candles and signs, while others leaflet cars stopped in traffic as people drive to Fox, Black Rep, Powell, and Sheldon performances. People of all faiths and persuasions are welcome.
